We finally got a chance to shoot at lovely French's Point and it did not disappoint. We had an absolutely amazing weekend with Brian and Meaghan and their family and friends! One of the biggest highlights were the fireworks that were planned as a surprise for Meaghan by her mother. Although it rained during most of the reception it briefly cleared up right at the time the fireworks were scheduled to go off and resumed pouring as soon as they were done! We've been waiting 12 years to have fireworks at a wedding and the wait was well worth it! This is just a small preview of their amazing day!
Lauren and Omi's wedding was one of our favorites last year for so many reasons: we absolutely love working at the Barn at Flanagan Farm, the colors and details of their Indian fusion wedding were so amazing and most importantly -- Lauren and Omi were some of the kindest clients we've worked with! Lani Toscano (who is a total rockstar and we love her!) did an amazing job with the design and florals of the day at the barn, everything was so beautifully colorful and detailed! Omi and Lauren decided to do an Indian fusion wedding, where they would have a semi-traditional Hindu ceremony and then a laid-back, fun party for the rest of the day where Lauren would change into a more traditional wedding dress and Omi into his uniform. Their ceremony was so interesting and filled with color and emotion. We couldn't have asked for better weather and a gorgeous backdrop for such a wonderful wedding day! Thanks Omi and Lauren for having us and being so great to work with throughout the entire process and big thanks also to all the vendors who helped make this day so wonderful!

One of our favorite weddings from 2018 was lovely Eva and Andrew's day in Mid Coast Maine in August. Like many of our couples that come from other destinations (California) they wanted a laid-back, garden party feel to their day with some quintessential Maine elements! We always love an outdoor ceremony with the ocean as the backdrop, a cocktail hour outside on the dock overlooking the boats and the gorgeous setting created by Sarah from Daisies and Pearls (one of our favorite planners to work with!) and Michelle Peele at the Bradley Inn for their reception was beyond stunning (side note: the owners of the Bradley Inn are so sweet and their food was absolutely delicious!).
From their wonderful wedding planner Sarah at Daisies and Pearls:
"Eva and Andrew’s love story begins as teenagers summering on the shores of Mid Coast Maine. It was only fitting the couple begin the next chapter of their love story in the place it began. Guests were welcomed to Maine in the most festive way; a lobster bake at The Contented Sole. Eva and Andrew’s wedding day arrived with blue skies and sunshine, making for a perfect summer day, captured even more perfectly by Fidelio Photography. The couple said “I Do” at the stunning, picturesque Fort William Henry, Pemaquid Point, Maine. Michelle Peele Florals added to the beauty of the surroundings with gorgeous blooms. Following the ceremony guests made their way back to The Contented Sole for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the dock. After taking in the joys of the seaside, guests were treated to a savory dinner at the charming Bradley Inn. Post dinner the dance floor remained packed with tunes by DJ Jon. While taking a break from the dance floor guests enjoyed delectable treats by Barn Door Baking Company. It was the most perfect of summer days indeed."
It was so great to work with Andrew and Eva and all the amazing vendors who helped making this wedding possible!

We are so lucky to have such amazing vendor friends (friendors!) in Portland and were so happy to collaborate with the most amazing team last July to bring this beauty to life! Thanks so much to everyone who participate in this gorgeous shoot, what a dream team! We absolutely love shooting in industrial spaces--there's so much character in a space like this and magic you can make!

We had been looking forward to Zakieh and Ryan's September wedding at one of our favorite venues in Maine, The Barn at Flanagan Farm, ever since we booked it! When their rehearsal dinner evening finally arrived there were some ominous looking clouds in the sky and though we met them a few minutes in advance of their dinner the sky opened up and started pouring. Fortunately it was a super quick rain storm and we were ale to go outside and do some quick portraits and saw not one--but two--rainbows in the sky. I think that right there was the sign that the weekend was going to be something magical.
Zakieh's wonderful sister Sherien runs Full Bloom Events, an event planning company in CT where she lives, and she did such an incredible, thoughtful job putting the wedding day together, getting all the details perfect and was an absolute joy to work with throughout the process. We also had the pleasure of working with Flowers by Justine for the first time and she immediately became one of my favorite vendors ever (after 11 years in this business that is saying a lot!). Not only did she do the most amazing job with the flowers and decor but she stepped in as Day of Coordinator too and was so incredibly helpful to us all day. We loved the gorgeous arbor and dreamy set up in the woods for their ceremony, the amazing dresses the bride and bridesmaids wore, the fashionable groomsmen, all of the beautiful little details that came together so perfect and of course--the people! Zakieh and Ryan are so lovely and their friends and family were an absolute blast, especially when it came time for the party! The party went late into the night when guests gathered by the fire to enjoy s'mores and late night food provided by Harvest Moon.
As usual I am always at a loss when I have to just choose a few photos to showcase and there are a ton here, but check out the highlights from the story of their day. So many thanks to all the vendors who made this day possible and to Zakieh and Ryan, thank you for being amazing to work with and trusting us with the artistic freedom to document your wedding day!

In early October I ventured out on a rare shoot without Lyle to beautiful Newport, RI to shoot Colette and Lee's engagement photos--a place that was meaningful to them. We lucked out with the most gorgeous light and unseasonably warm weather and had a blast going around to a few different spots at the mansions and by the water. Colette is a fellow photographer and wanted a vibe that was a little more casual lifestyle/editorial feel than traditional engagement photography. I have so many favorites from this session it was seriously impossible to narrow it down for a few for a blog but here are some of my favorites!
We had planned to meet up with Mark and Liz for awhile after they booked us for their Maine wedding, but had no idea that on the day our engagement shoot was we would wake up to the most beautiful winter wonderland! Taking photos in the snow is really tricky, sometimes it's too heavy, sometimes it's too light, sometimes it's so cold that people have a hard time focusing (and we do too!) but on this particular day in December the temperatures were still above freezing and we met up with them at one of our favorite venues in Wells, the Wells Reserve aka Laudholm Farm. It was so silent and beautiful there and we had so much fun walking around with Mark and Liz and getting to know them. This session was a bit quicker than our typical one due to the temps (and we all had frozen hair by the end!) but was so wonderful. We are really looking forward to seeing Mark and Liz again at their June wedding at the Cliff House!
