Camden Maine Elopement Aboard the Schooner Olad

Our first wedding of 2025 was an amazing adventure abord the Schooner Olad out of Camden. We met up with M + A on a chilly day which wasn’t what we all were hoping for, but in Maine you never know what you’re going to get with the weather, and you go with what you get! We are always up for anything and so were they, so we all came prepared for the wind and rain and boarded the boat. The captain of the boat was awesome and prepared us all for the trip and we set out. It was definitely windy, but we ended up beating the rain just in time and they were married on the bow of the ship in a private celebration officiated by the captain. We sailed out to the lighthouse at Curtis Island and learned some of the history of it from the captain which was really interesting. One of the coolest things we documented was M + A setting the sails on the boat for the first time as husband and wife!

They were planning on having some champagne and cutting cake on the boat but it was a little too windy for that, so the cake was cut back at the dock and we did some champagne photos at their final destination for the day—Moody’s diner in Waldoboro! That’s the coolest thing about eloping, you can make it whatever you want to and go wherever you want!

We had such a great time with them and loved the adventure on the boat! If you’re planning an elopement and need photographers, especially one on a schooner, please get in touch with us, we’d love to work with you and have special rates for short ceremonies and elopements and do them all year round! We can even give helpful tips and vendor recommendations for planning. We cannot recommend the Schooner Olad and their crew highly enough!
