Film Wedding Photography in Maine
Film photography has been part of our story from the very beginning. Before digital cameras became the standard, we both learned photography on film in high school, and we’ve never lost our love for it. There is something timeless about the way film captures light, color, and emotion. Its soft tones, beautiful grain, and organic feel create photographs that are impossible to completely replicate with digital.
As Maine film wedding photographers, we’re excited to offer hybrid wedding collections that combine digital photography with the artistry of 120 and 35mm film. By blending both formats, you’ll receive the best of both worlds: every important moment documented digitally alongside carefully crafted film photographs with a nostalgic, editorial feel.
Because each roll of film has a limited number of exposures, every frame is photographed with intention. Film naturally encourages us to slow down, observe the light, and create meaningful images that feel authentic and timeless. Many couples are drawn to film because of its rich colors, beautiful skin tones, and the romantic quality that has made it a favorite for generations.
Whether you’re planning a coastal Maine wedding, an intimate elopement in Acadia National Park, a celebration in Camden, Bar Harbor, Rockport, Boothbay Harbor, the Portland area, or anywhere along the Maine coast, film photography adds an unforgettable dimension to your wedding gallery. Film Wedding Photography FAQ
Do you shoot film and digital at the same wedding?
Yes. Our hybrid collections include both, so every important moment is covered digitally, and we make carefully chosen film frames alongside.
Is film worth it for a wedding?
Yes! Film has a distinct look and nostalgic feel and sometimes feels like “perfect” and more candid than digital work
Can we have film at an elopement or micro wedding?
Yes! See our elopement photography.
Color or black and white film?
We typically do a mix of both unless our clients have a strong preference for one or the other
