Maine Wedding at a Summer Camp | A dreamy, rainy day on Sebago Lake
One of our favorite weddings last summer was Z + C’s mid-August wedding at the lovely summer camp, Camp Mataponi on Sebago Lake. They actually started their day with getting ready and a first look at the Portland Harbor Hotel and then went with their bridal party to a cool open field we found near the venue so their guests wouldn’t see them before their wedding. Z + C were really focused on getting mostly candids throughout their day and didn’t want a lot of posed photos. We headed to the venue where they were able to see all the amazing details that our friends from Azalea Events had put together and then the ceremony began. It was looking overcast before even though we thought the rain was going to hold off, but during the ceremony it just started pouring. One of the coolest things happened though, they just kept going. No one really seemed to mind that it was pouring and it added the coolest vibe to the day! I was so happy that they didn’t let it affect anything and just kept going and having fun, honestly what really can you do anyway? We love it when people just have a great attitude and enjoy and then the photos reflect that and it becomes a part of the story of the day. After the ceremony and cocktail hour everyone moved inside for some really wonderful speeches/toasts, dinner and an absolutely crazy dance party. In the middle of the evening K and a bunch of friends went in the back and got some Fireball shots ready and she came out and passed out the shots from a bucket and people went wild for this, it was super fun and also made for some great moments and photos.
We loved documenting this day and it was so hard to narrow down photos to just show some here from the day, it was so wonderful working with them and their friends and family and we wish them the best!
