Kyle and Beth's Wedding in Portland, Maine

First of all, Happy New Year! I have been meaning to write this blog for a few days, but then I got sick...again! We have also been swamped with inquiries for 2008/2009 weddings the past few weeks -- if you're a bride out there reading this definitely get in touch with asap because our summer is filling up quickly! Kyle and Beth, who you may remember from their fun engagement session last November, are sooo great and we had the chance to shoot their wedding on November 10. We started the day by shadowing Beth and Kyle each getting ready in the Sunday School rooms of the church where they were married... they decided that they wanted to do all the portraits before the wedding, so they had a little reveal ceremony where they saw each other for the first time and then we took the entire 18 person bridal party for outdoor photos... this was unfortunately not a great idea because it was freezing out that day and no one was very happy with us for making them stand outside in the wind and cold... so Beth and I talked and decided we should move the photos inside--to Starbucks! Ha. Kyle and Beth actually met at Starbucks, where they both work, so it was a cute idea and they were cool with us using it for some photos and actually the colors worked well with their wedding colors. Afterwards we took Kyle and Beth to downtown Portland to do some night shots in the middle of Commercial Street (lots of congratulatory honking! ;) ). Then it was time for their ceremony! It was really beautiful and their pastor actually worked Starbucks in to his message. :) Their reception was at Valhalla in Cumberland, ME and there was great food and lots of dancing!

We are so glad we met Beth and Kyle and have gotten to know them and shot their wedding. Their family and friends were also SO warm and open and complimentary of our engagement shots. :)
