We were so flattered to be asked by the editors of Seacoast Weddings Magazine to contribute to a bridal fashion editorial shoot that they wanted to run in their 2013 issue. We have had some other work published in Seacoast over the years, and it's such a great publication with beautiful design and inspiring ideas for brides planning a wedding. They asked photographers to shoot a nautical bridal shoot and ours took place on the top of a Casco Bay ferry as it went from Peaks Island back to Portland. You can view the whole editorial/issue over on their website or pick up a copy in stores (definitely worth buying a print copy!) now. Here is the spread with our photo as well as some of the images that were not used. Special thanks to our models, Stephanie, Nicole and Shauna as well as Kacie Corbelle who did the makeup/hair (highly recommend her for your wedding!), Andrea's Bridal and Spoil Me Bridal. Part 2 of this shoot is coming soon...
There are only a few days left before fall officially begins and this summer has FLOWN by! We have gone on some amazing adventures, shot some incredible weddings and have met and worked with lots of wonderful people this year. We have been so busy we haven't had a chance to update our blog as often as we would like, but have lots of previews on our Facebook page. Before we begin blogging full sessions we wanted to post a preview of some of our favorite shots from the spring and summer. I am excited to share their stories with you with more images very soon. We are now booking sessions for 2013, please feel free to get in touch with us via e-mail to get our rates for next year (weddings, families, high school seniors). We are only accepting a limited number of weddings next year so please contact us asap if you are interested, we will book up quickly! There will also be info on a boudoir marathon coming soon and some changes to our brand and packaging!
Our new blog feature--every Friday check in to see five random photos from us! Some may be from new shoots we've done and some from old that we never got a chance to blog. :)
We are SO excited to finally be able to release images from that Spring 2010 issue of Portland Style Magazine! The magazine is now out on newsstands around Portland (all over downtown!) and if you're in the area please grab a copy because the images look great printed and there are articles and other resources in there. Since only 5 images are in the magazine we thought we'd show more from the shoot here. We had three incredible local models (Emily, Inna and Corey) along with the help of our super talented makeup artist (Rebecca) and hairstylist (Asia). Styling is by me (Jess)! The flowers for the shoot were provided by the wonderful and talented Judy at Flora Fauna. Clothing is from local shops Chantal and McKenzie Tribe. We cannot thank everyone involved enough! And wait until you see what we have planned for the summer issue!
ps: we're not going to be that company that spams you repeatedly to join our Facebook page, but if you're interested we post news, specials, photos and more there! Thanks for the support!
I had a great shoot with E today to start building a portfolio with her... this was her first professional shoot and you would never have known it, she was so creative and a total natural. I am looking forward to shooting her again (and to doing her family's portraits in a few weeks!). :)
It has been so rainy in Portland this month!! We were hoping it would be dry for all our weddings this week, but...not so much. We are into wedding season now and have had 2 already this week and one more on Saturday. It is a very busy and exciting time of year for us. Today I had a portfolio building fashion shoot with a local model and here is a shot we loved--using the rain the best we could. ;) Please stay tuned for more shots, we have done tons of fashion shoots lately and lots more...
We are gearing up for an AMAZING year and are so psyched about all our upcoming shoots/weddings. We are happy to say that we are just about completely booked for weddings in 2009 and with the exception of a couple of dates in July, October/ November (and one weekend in Sept) we are booked up! We are now booking for 2010 weddings. In addition to a wedding photography business, we also have portrait business and our new portfolio will be launching soon to feature some of that work. We will book up FAST this summer as inquiries are already pouring in, so please contact us for details on a shoot or to schedule time with us. Here are some of the portrait sessions that we offer:
- Newborn and children's portraiture (and bday parties)
- Family portraits
- Senior photos
- Couples sessions
- Maternity and the birth of a baby
- Model portfolio building
- Fashion/artistic/boudoir (visit our personal websites to see more of our fashion work JW + LK)
As you can probably tell from viewing some of our work, we like to think our style is pretty unique and our vision for a shoot depends on a lot of factors, but primarily we base our decisions on locations around the subject and what they are looking for. Our style ranges from colorful and funky to edgy and dark. We try to find unique locations and play with light and angles. These sessions are not a traditional studio session with stiff posing and a white backdrop... we also capture candid moments to give the photos a lifestyle feel. Maine is INCREDIBLE May-Oct for photo shoots with beautiful light and scenery.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us by using the contact link up above or email me directly. We shoot 7 days a week but our weekends book incredibly quickly throughout the summer with weddings and other shoots. Travel within 20 min of Portland is included, and we are able to travel throughout Maine and elsewhere (we will be in New York in April, New Jersey in July and Washington DC in September).
SPRING/SUMMER PROMOTION: Refer a friend to us for any portrait session and if they book a session you'll receive a $50 giftcard towards any shoot/product! Please be sure that they mention this promotion and your name when they contact us.
