Emma and Tom’s Boothbay Harbor, Maine wedding

We met Tom and Emma a few months before their wedding to do their engagement session (which is one of my favorites), and immediately picked up on how sweet and thoughtful they were with each other. Their wedding was in September on in Maine, at the Linekin Bay Resort, a beautiful little spot on the coast in Boothbay Harbor. Emma did an incredible job planning their wedding, with lots of special touches created by her, including designing her paper goods and the logo for the guest totes, and collecting blue pitchers with the help of her mom from tag stores and thrift shops for a year that were later used as centerpieces on all the tables. Documenting Tom and Emma’s day surrounded by their family and friends (and lots of Bowdoin alumni!) was so wonderful, thanks T&E and we hope to see you in the future! :)

Isabel’s Maine Senior Photos

Late last year we were contacted by Isabel’s mother regarding her senior photos. She actually had to get her photos done early because she was getting braces in a few weeks and didn’t want them in her photos (completely understandable!). So even though it was chilly we met up with our makeup artist and got her makeup done and then ventured out to the location for the shoot. Isabel was a total pro in the cold weather, and the setting was actually perfect for the different outfits she brought. We are thrilled to have her as our first featured session featured on our new senior photo website. Check it out and please get in touch if you need to book a session for this year, we have limited spots and availability and TONS of ideas… we have been shooting seniors in Maine for 7 years now and every year we have an amazing group of unique seniors who come to us because they want something that is reflective of their style and personality. Maine Bridal Fashion

When things are a little slower for us during the winter, we often get the chance to do some shoots for fun, including this which was shot in January. We teamed up with Colleen from Aphrodite Salon and Brenda from Adore Rouge (highly recommend both!) for this winter bridal fashion session. Unfortunately you just can’t plan on what the weather is going to do in January in Maine, and this happened to be shot on THE coldest and windiest day of the winter I think, and we opted to just go with it and find another way of doing the shoot rather than subject the models to the horrible conditions outside. I adore the light in these shots. Here are a few from that day! Thanks so much to everyone who contributed to the shoot, and we shot something else with this team that we can’t release yet but it will blow you away! :)

Patty and Matt’s Bretton Woods, NH wedding

We still have lots of weddings to blog from 2012 (actually still have some from 2011 too), but I am skipping to the very end of the season because this winter wedding was so different from all the others! We met Patty and Matt a year before their wedding and talked with them over lunch while they told us about their wedding plans. Matt actually proposed to Patty in Ohio, in exactly the same place his dad proposed to his mom. So sweet, right? Their wedding ceremony was at a beautiful little church in Littleton, NH with their reception at the gorgeous Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, White Mountains on a freezing day in late November. Their friends and family had tons of fun during the reception, which you can see from the photos. We especially loved a surprise toast that Matt’s aunt and uncle gave with different hats (see below!) as well as the incredible band from Boston that played, The Dave Foley Band, and a huge highlight was when Patty joined in and sang Johnny Cash’s “Jackson.” Check out some of our favorites from their wedding day below (very reception heavy in photos, so many amazing moments there!). Molly and Cody’s Wells, Maine summer wedding

We met Molly and Cody the fall before their wedding and immediately felt a connection with them. The fact that their wedding was going to take place on our anniversary, August 11, made us like them even more! ;) Molly and Cody are the sweetest couple, and lots of their family traveled from all over the US to be with them for a special weekend at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine. Laudholm is a beautiful place for a wedding and has so much to work with. Their wedding planner (and justice of the peace!), the incredible Melanie Voros of Blissful Beginnings (cannot recommend her highly enough!!), put so much work and thought into all of the details of the wedding. Cody and Molly, we’re so happy to have met and worked with you–and to share an anniversary with you! Wishing you so much happiness in the future!

Family Photos – Jackson Hole, Wyoming

We were so lucky to meet the Stevenson family in 2011 when they were visiting Maine. We all connected so much and were so happy when they asked us to join them on their family vacation in July 2012 to Jackson Hole, WY. We have never been out there and it is an absolutely gorgeous place. We documented some of the outings they had (hiking, kayaking, etc) as well as family portraits and casual time together with some of their relatives and friends. The Stevensons really value time with their family and close friends, as well as documenting those moments, and we are honored to get the chance to travel and work with them and get to know them all. Lyle also shot video the entire time, and created a 45 minute documentary of their time there. It is far too long and personal to share it all online, but we recently got a chance to go back Jackson Hole for New Years, and watched it with their family which was very special to relive it all with them! The winter trip was very different from the summer (and very cold!), but really amazing as well to get the chance to spend New Years there and to see their twin boys experience snow for the first time!

We were so flattered to be asked by the editors of Seacoast Weddings Magazine to contribute to a bridal fashion editorial shoot that they wanted to run in their 2013 issue. We have had some other work published in Seacoast over the years, and it’s such a great publication with beautiful design and inspiring ideas for brides planning a wedding. They asked photographers to shoot a nautical bridal shoot and ours took place on the top of a Casco Bay ferry as it went from Peaks Island back to Portland. You can view the whole editorial/issue over on their website or pick up a copy in stores (definitely worth buying a print copy!) now. Here is the spread with our photo as well as some of the images that were not used. Special thanks to our models, Stephanie, Nicole and Shauna as well as Kacie Corbelle who did the makeup/hair (highly recommend her for your wedding!), Andrea’s Bridal and Spoil Me Bridal. Eugene and Amelia’s Camden, Maine Wedding

Eugene and Amelia had a private wedding ceremony with their closest family and friends on a beautiful Monday afternoon in mid-August at the Children’s Chapel in Camden, ME. We have shot at the Children’s Chapel before and it is a beautiful spot for a small wedding ceremony, surrounded by gardens. Amelia wanted her wedding day coverage to be almost exclusively photojournalistic, even the family formal photos were candid, which seem so much more beautiful and natural than the traditional portraits can be. They also made sure to leave lots of time for photos which is always great, especially in a place as beautiful as Camden! We had a great time going with them to several locations and then they went to the wonderful restaurant Natalie’s at the Camden Harbour Inn for a private dinner with their family and friends. We love shooting these smaller, more intimate weddings. Thanks Eugene and Amelia, we’re so glad you found us and had us document your day!

Maine Family Photography

We have had so many incredible family photo sessions this fall, I look forward to blogging more this week! Here is one photo we shot recently that we are obsessed with–it would look so cool blown up large! :) We absolutely love working with families and look forward to doing more shoots with them in 2013 (we can shoot in the winter too if anyone is up for that challenge!)
