Adam and Christina met and booked us two years before their wedding day and we were excited when the day finally came. They are a super sweet couple who, like us, are cat people, so we immediately liked them. Their wedding ceremony and reception were all at Christina’s family’s home in Harpswell, Maine which is right on the water in a beautiful area. The photos were really important to them and they planned two hours for us to drive around and shoot at some great spots along the coast (FYI we love that!). Adam and Christina are both really into Crossfit so Christina was doing push-ups before the wedding and after their ceremony they went and did pull-ups. Dedication! And then there is their reception… the photos really tell the story of how crazy and fun they and their family and friends were…  Thanks so much Adam and Christina, we had so much fun working with you!

Ryan and Blythe were married on a perfect summer day at Hildene in Manchester, Vermont. Hildene was formerly Abraham Lincoln’s son’s summer home and is an absolutely stunning venue for a wedding. Ryan and Blythe were referred to us from Karen at Karen Lisa Photography in Florida and we were so happy she sent them our way. Ryan and Blythe are based in New York City and in our conversations with them we soon learned that Ryan works at a company Lyle used to work at several years ago and they also got their ring at the diamond company I used to work at in New York. Small world!  I had a chance to meet and spend a little time before the wedding with R&B when I was shooting in the city and did an engagement session with them at the Brooklyn Bridge (which you can see a few shots from here). They are awesome people and we loved working with them and both of their families on their wedding day. Thanks so much Ryan and Blythe, we wish you the best and we hope to see you in the future!

Tom and Cassie were married in July with a ceremony at the First Parish Church in Portland and reception at The Landing at Pine Point in Scarborough. We adore these two–Cassie is the sweetest and I loved emailing back and forth with her in the year leading up to the wedding. She wore her grandmother’s wedding dress and gloves for the ceremony (which her mother also wore) and planned on surprising her grandmother, who had no idea she was wearing it. After we did portraits of the bridal party their school bus pulled up outside the church where her grandmother waiting to see her for the first time and was so moved when she saw her. Tom and Cassie are both teachers so they had a school bus take them and their bridal party from the ceremony to the reception and also wanted photos of them on it–so cute! We didn’t have a lot of time on their wedding day to do photos of the two of them so did an After Session a few weeks later… photos from that and their wedding day below! Thanks Tom and Cassie, you are so great and we hope to see you soon!

Diane found us through one of our favorite brides from 2009 and we were so happy she referred her to us! Chris and Diane are actually living in Seattle but were married in early June in the gorgeous White Mountains of New Hampshire. Chris and Diane are avid skiers and chose one of their favorite areas for their wedding. Their wedding filled with amazing DIY details (like origami bouquets and boutonnieres!) that Diane put together herself, each one of them representing her and Chris’s relationship in some way. The ceremony and reception were both all at the same location and after the ceremony the guests were all given noise makers and paraded over to the reception tent. They even had their dog there as a guest (and co-ring bearer ). We were lucky enough to have time at the reception to take Chris and Diane around the property for their photos and loved how adventurous they were. Chris is also an accomplished musician and played piano at the reception as well as played for Diane and her father’s moving first dance. Chris and Diane, it was so great to work with you both and we wish you the best.

We actually met Alyssa two years ago when her sister Jessica got married and we shot her wedding. Their family was so great so we were thrilled when Alyssa wrote us to let us know she was engaged to Mike and they wanted us to shoot their wedding too. We also found out then that Jessica was expecting right around the time of Alyssa’s wedding which was exciting since we love watching (and photographing) our client’s families as they grow and change through the years. Shortly after the wedding Jessica gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who I photographed a few weeks later.

I met up with Alyssa who got ready for the wedding at her parents’ house and she had such a beautiful, positive glow the entire day. It was great to work with both Mike and Alyssa and I hope we can keep in touch with them and continue to document their families through the years.
