2009 Boudoir Sessions! | Maine Boudoir Photographer

I have returned from Indianapolis, where I shot a wedding (so amazing – look for a preview coming soon), spent lots of great time with my cute niece and nephew and family (pics of that coming too) and had a chance to relax a little. I thought I was escaping the snow in Maine but apparently I brought it with me, because one day when I was there they had a record breaking snow fall and the city basically shut down. ;)

You may notice a change in the blog design, I have made it a little cleaner and have a few finishing touches and content to add soon.

There was recently an article on about Boudoir sessions and how they are becoming increasingly popular (especially for upcoming brides who often do an album and present to their groom on their wedding night) which is great. I have loved doing these sessions and have had some great clients in the last few months who have done images as gifts for significant others as gifts or even just for themselves. Some of the girls have given me permission to use their images for promotion, and due to the nature of these images (nothing super scandalous here! ;) ) they are behind a cut so you’ll have to click to see them.  I know they all felt confident and amazing and I love being able to do that through my work. And I know those who did albums for Christmas got great reactions! ;) Special thanks to my makeup artist Rebecca who also contributes a ton to these shoots.

Here is a quote from a client in January about her session:

“I did my boudoir shoot as a wedding gift for my fiance. I was definitely very nervous before the shoot, but Jess made me feel very comfortable and beautiful too! Jess is amazing at what she does and her work shows. It was very laid back and a ton of fun. I think every woman should do this for themselves!” -S.

The next boudoir marathon session (which is a weekend long and they are quicker sessions than the private sessions that I do) will be MARCH 6 & 7 in Portland. The dates will go quickly so please get in touch asap for info. Due to my busy schedule with weddings and other work I am not sure how many other marathon sessions I will do May-Oct, but will be available for private sessions throughout the week. There is a deposit of $100 required for these sessions and payment is due at least one week before the shoot. Makeup is included with the packages. Private sessions are also available at other times, as well as boudoir parties for bridal parties or other groups who want to have a fun day of drinks/hanging out/shooting. Another option is couples boudoir (so fun).

On to the pics! Also if you know any of the girls featured in the photos please do not use their names in the comments — thanks! :) They are also a teeny bit not safe for work viewing, although there is no full nudity. Click the link below to check them out!

Jess Z - Jess – in the picture where the girl’s hair looks blue – is her hair really that color? I WANT THAT. (Although I’m not sure I could change from pink.) Anyway, GORGEOUS. Thanks for sharing!

Jess - Thanks everyone! :) Jess, haha, her hair isn’t blue, it’s just a vintage-y post processing treatment on the photo.
